GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Delta Troubadours play at the “Free Fridays” Concert Series at Bo Diddley Plaza in downtown Gainesville Friday, July 14.
The Gainesville-based band The Delta Troubadours formed in 2015. They are a rock ‘n’ roll band with blues rock roots that relentlessly works to perfect their art with an energetic live show and a studio presence with instrumental virtuosity. Their efforts have been rewarded with several awards including first place at Destination Okeechobee (2017) and Gainesville Battle of the Bands (2016), and they were a finalist at Music Juror Award at One Spark (2015). They have opened for national acts such as Blues Traveler, Heartless Bastards, The London Souls, The Main Squeeze and SUSTO.
Gytis Garsys (lead vocals, guitar, keyboard) says of the band, “At the end of the day, music is a part of us as much as our beating hearts.” Garsys is joined by Jon Franklin (bass, vocals) and Ian Heausler (lead guitar, vocals).
The Delta Troubadours (formerly known as Gritt) released their debut EP, “Gritt,” in early 2016 (re-released in January 2017), which was recorded at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. They play locally and have tour dates throughout the southeastern United States. AXS, a ticket merchant and entertainment company, listed The Delta Troubadours on their "One of Five Must-See Acts at 2016 Gasparilla Festival" list.
